Feuerbach's Anthropological Appropriation of the Ontological Argument in the Essence of Christianity
In this paper, I claim that an ontological argument lies at the root of Feuerbach's anthropological projection theory. After some preliminary considerations regarding Feuerbach's dynamic position within the history of dialectical philosophy, this paper illustrates how Feuerbach appropriates the ontological argument within the Essence of Christianity (EC), and will continually suggest how we may understand his entire anthropological reduction as consonant with his early Hegelian career - in fact, he was a student of Hegel - even though at the height of his fame Feuerbach expressly contested this dependency.
